Orson Scott Card Working on Firefall

The developers of the upcoming massively multiplayer online shooter Firefall have announced that they will be collaborating with the famous science fiction writer Orson Scott Card for the story and world of Firefall. Red 5 Studios talk more about this partnership in their latest dev diary and explain what this means for gamers who are anticipating the online game which is set to release later this year.

Firefall is being developed by Red 5 Studios, which is a relatively new game developer made up of several ex-Blizzard employees who worked on World of Warcraft. It will be a science fiction massively online multiplayer shooter set two hundred years in the future that is set to meld a vast cooperative open world campaign with a highly competitive online multiplayer.

Orson Scott Card is a famous writer who has written many novels and is well known for his "Ender's" series of science fiction stories, particularly the first book, Ender's Game.

Firefall’s story will revolve around a war between the survivors of a human civilization ravaged by an energy storm called The Melding and an alien race called Chosen. Along with this announcement came the announcement of a manga novel based on Firefall that will be done by Orson Scott Card, his daughter Emily Janice Card and Udon Entertainment.
