‘Outlander’ Novels to Get TV Adaptation by BSG Creator

The sci-fi/romance novel series Outlander is to be turned into a television show, with Sony Pictures acquiring the rights and appointing Battlestar Galactica executive producer Ron Moore to lead the project.

The twenty-million selling series of novels follows army nurse Clare Randall, who is transported back in time to the 18th Century and falls in love with a Scottish warrior. Moore will adapt author Diane Gabaldon’s original work into a pilot, which is expected to be pitched to cable networks at some point in the coming weeks.

Moore’s previous credits also include writing credits for Star Trek and showrunning duties for Roswell and Carinvale.
