Ricky Martin has been cast in the third installment of FX’s true crime anthology series, American Crime Story. Martin will play Antonio D’Amico, the partner of fashion designer Gianni Versace, according to Variety. The series, created by Ryan Murphy, had a critically acclaimed first season last year with The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. The anthology series's second season will be Katrina: American Crime Story, set to premiere next year, focusing on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. His most recent album won the best Latin pop album award at the 2016 Grammy Awards. Versace: American Crime Story will explore the death of Gianni Versace, who was murdered on the steps of his home in Miami Beach by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. Cunanan killed five people that year and then killed himself on a house boat eight days after killing Versace. Martin joins Penelope Cruz, who will play Donatella Versace, Edgar Ramirez, who will play Gianni Versace, and Darren Criss, who will star as Cunanan. Versace: American Crime Story is expected to air in 2018 on FX.
