Rihanna Cast as Marion Cane in Bates Motel

After much speculation, it has been revealed that Rihanna will be stepping into the role of Marion Cane, the role made famous by Janet Leigh, on season five of Bates Motel. The official announcement came at the Bates Motel Comic Con panel where discussion centered around the upcoming fifth and final season of the show. Rihanna became involved in the project after she said she was a fan of the show in an article. Executive producer, Carlton Cuse, reached out about appearing in the role and she accepted. Cuse stated that the character would be similar to the version of the character from a different movie, rather than the original Psycho film, according to Variety. Cuse also said that Marion is a character they had always wanted to include before wrapping the series and he knew that had to find someone special to take on the role. Other plans for the final season include Norman in his full blown psychosis, along with Norma still appearing as Norman’s vision of her.
