Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin Might Tackle Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs’ untimely passing clued us all in on one thing: this guy was important. A leading creative force at Apple, the world of electronics and the world in general won’t be the same without him. Naturally, Sony’s making a biopic about Jobs, but who’s got the writing gig?

The film will be based on Walter Isaacson’s recently released Jobs biography, simply titled Steve Jobs. Although no one’s officially hopped on board, The Los Angeles Times relays that Sony and the upcoming film’s producers are aiming to grab Aaron Sorkin to pen the script.

For those not in the know, Aaron Sorkin was a creative force behind the television drama The West Wing and, more recently, won the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for The Social Network. That’s right, all of those brilliant quotable lines of dialogue that also function to tell a compelling story came from this guy. He also co-wrote the current hit Moneyball alongside Steven Zaillian.

To say that Sorkin’s an accomplished screenwriter would be an understatement, so it’s obviously clear why Sony wants to work with him again. However, Sorkin actually knew Jobs personally, so while it could be a personal project, it could also be a tough task emotionally.
