First Female Director Set for Sherlock Season Four

BBC’s Sherlock has started filming its fourth season, and, for the first time in the show’s history, an episode will be directed by a woman, according to Variety. Rachel Talalay will be directing for the first feature length episode of season four. Talalay has worked as a director, producer, and professor in film and television. She previously directed The Flash and Doctor Who. She also has film credits for Tank Girl, Ghost in the Machine and Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare. Image via BBC Fans have been waiting quite a while for any news about Sherlock’s fourth season, but according to an interview from Variety with Sue Vertue, the producer of the show, "it will be well worth the wait." No exact premiere date has been set, but the first episode, directed by Rachel Talalay, is predicted to air early 2017.
