Starz Sets Premiere Date for American Gods

The much-anticipated TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s novel, American Gods, has a premiere date on Starz. According to Variety, American Gods will premiere on April 30, 2017. The series will have Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Pushing Daisies) as showrunner, with Ricky Whittle (The 100) taking on the lead role of Shadow Moon, an ex-con who finds himself caught in the middle of America’s old and new gods. Among the show's old gods are Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) and Mr. Nancy (Orlando Jones), while sci-fi (and Fuller) favorite Gillian Anderson will be playing one of the show's new gods- Media. The series will be hosting a screening at SXSW on March 11, followed by a panel with the cast and creative team. Other cast members of the show include Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Jonathan Tucker, Cloris Leachman, Peter Stormare, Kristin Chenoweth, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Crispin Glover, Chris Obi, Demore Barnes, Corbin Bernsen, and Mousa Kraish.
