Superhero Romance Series Cloak and Dagger Announced

"A surprising addition to the MCU."
Courtesy of Freeform, the channel previously known as ABC Family, another Marvel TV series is on the way. According to Variety, Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger has been given a straight-to-series order by the network. Cloak’s real name is Tyrone Johnson and Dagger is Tandy Bowen. Variety’s description of the series is as follows: “The live-action interracial romance follows the duo, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love — Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.” [caption id="attachment_81896" align="aligncenter" width="601"]Cloak and Dagger Cloak and Dagger in Ultimate Spider-Man. (Image via disney.wikia.com.)[/caption] Freeform’s sister network, ABC, is home to other Marvel properties Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., its Mockingbird-focused spin-off Marvel’s Most Wanted, Agent Carter, and a developing project from 12 Years a Slave screenwriter John Ridley. No writer is attached to Cloak and Dagger as of yet. Though it doesn't preclude the characters from making a feature film appearance, it's notoriously hard to negotiate the different schedules of TV and film. What are your thoughts on this news? Are you happy that we'll be able to focus on the story of Tandy and Tyrone, or are you disappointed that an appearance in a future Marvel movie is unlikely?
