The CW Orders Another Pilot

The CW has ordered a pilot for a new medical comedy drama. First Cut focuses on a young, socially awkward female doctor who is excited about finally joining the world of work. However, she soon discovers that life at her hospital is not any different from her time at high school.

The project has been created by Jennie Snyder, whose previous credits include executive producing Gilmore Girls, Men In Trees, Lipstick Jungle and 90210. She also penned the semi-successful 2011 romantic comedy feature film Something Borrowed.

Dan Jinks who has worked on Pushing Daisies and movies such as American Beauty and Milk, will also executive produce the show following his signing of an overall deal with CBS Television Studios last summer.

In addition to this latest pilot, The CW has already ordered several others for production in the upcoming year, including: a Sex and the City prequel, superhero drama Arrow, a modern version of Beauty and the Beast and a crime drama titled Cult.
