The Handmaid’s Tale Renewed for Season Two

Hulu has already renewed The Handmaid’s Tale for a second season, according to Variety. The announcement came at Hulu’s Upfront presentation this week, and the streaming service also revealed that the sophomore season will premiere in 2018. Hulu also stated that The Handmaid’s Tale has been the most viewed series premiere on the platform. The series is based on a Margaret Atwood novel of the same name. It takes place in a dystopian society called Gilead in what was formerly part of the United States. The series stars Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, O-T Fagbenle, Max Minghella, and Samira Wiley. The Handmaid’s Tale is created, executive produced and written by Bruce Miller. Warren Littlefield serves as an executive producer and Atwood is a consulting producer on the series.
