Turn off the Lights

The Sims 4 Officially Announced

The Sims 4 is officially coming to a PC or Mac near you. A sequel to the best selling PC franchise of all time? Who would have thought it. All jokes aside, EA and Maxis announced the title today scheduled for a 2014 release. But that’s not all as it seems that EA are not making the same mistake twice after the release of SimCity, which had its fair share of issues. The game will NOT require a constant internet connection to play.

The game will have a fully playable single player offline mode for you to enjoy so hopefully won’t suffer as many issues as the much talked about SimCity. The series has sold over 150 million copies worldwide making it one of the most popular game franchises of all time.

The press release added, “The Sims franchise is fueled by the passion and creativity of its millions of fans around the world. Your continued devotion to the franchise ignites the fire of creativity of the team at The Sims Studio, driving them to continually improve and innovate on one of the world’s most successful simulation games.”

News of a sequel is surely going to please many people and with EA already looking to get rid of the bad taste that SimCity left in people’s mouths with its always online single player it seems they have learned their lesson. Only time will tell but the hype train for The Sims 4 begins now.
