Togetherness Ending After Season 2

"Together no more (but still together)."
Togetherness won’t be returning for a third season. After five episodes of Togetherness’ eight-episode second season, HBO has decided not to renew the series. In a statement to Deadline, the network said this about the decision: “Although we have decided not to proceed with another season of Togetherness, we look forward to continuing our strong creative collaboration with the talented Jay and Mark Duplass.” For HBO, the Duplass brothers also executive produce the animated comedy series Animals, but more projects are surely on the way due to the duo’s overall deal with the network. Though the series was well-liked by critics and general viewers, it wasn’t able to attract a wide enough audience to be renewed. For my part, I was always interested in watching the series due to the Duplass’ involvement, but I never got around to it. With the news of its cancellation, it might finally be time to check it out.
