Trailer Watch: Danny Boyle’s ‘Steve Jobs’

"A short but enticing look at Michael Fassbender as the infamous Jobs"
After some initial setbacks, Danny Boyle's Steve Jobs has finally given the world a look at the maverick inventor as portrayed by Michael Fassbender. The brief yet succinct trailer features a prolonged speech from Fassbender's Jobs, coupled with voice clips from Seth Rogan's Steve Wozniak, and Kate Winslet's Joanna Hoffman. It is only at the end where their faces are finally revealed, along with an approximation of where the film intends to focus itself. Check out the Steve Jobs Trailer below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeOxo7o9T8Q Aaron Sorkin's adaptation of Walter Isaacson's novel carries all of the character attributes and apocalyptic speeches that we have come to expect from him. Despite the relative failure of Joshua Michael Stern's Jobs biopic of 2013, this second attempt at profiling the marketing genius looks oddly appealing. Sorkin showed fellow tech icon Mark Zuckerberg no mercy in his script for The Social Network - some excerpts from the trailer seem to point in a similar direction for the polarizing Jobs. Seth Rogan's Wozniak is an interesting version of the character, leaning more towards a harshly critical co-creator and less towards a quiet and affable side-kick. While Boyle's film appears to give the decades-long story the gravity Jobs could not deliver, it has yet to be seen whether the involvement of Sorkin and Fassbinder will elevate the biopic to a substantial level.
