Jimmy Kimmel Calls Out Rival Jay Leno: "I'm Not a Fan"

Late night talk show hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Jay Leno have had something of a rivalry for years, and every now and then shots get fired. This time, it was Kimmel's turn to put down his contemporary, declaring he was "not a big fan" of Leno while speaking to Deadline. "I mean, Jay's a very polite guy. He's a very—well, he's polite. But it's funny, people ask me about him a lot, so he must be important in some way. I'm just not a big fan."

The bad blood between the two goes back to 2010, when Leno and his parent netwok NBC were openly mocked and criticized by Kimmel on his talk show. This was sparked by the appointment of Leno to replace Conan O'Brien on The Tonight Show. Kimmel had kinder words, however, for fellow broadcaster David Letterman, saying, "I know it's probably disturbing to say you idolize somebody, but if I had to pick somebody to say that about, it would probably be him."
