Twin Peaks Premiere Date, New Trailer Released

Agent Cooper is back and this time he’ll be lending his detective talents to Showtime. The details of the highly-anticipated Twin Peaks reboot have been kept under wraps (with the exception of its list of cast members), but the premiere date and episode count were just announced and a new trailer was released (below). Fans can now mark their calendar for May 21 at 9 p.m./8c for the two-hour season premiere. This limited series will be 18 hours long when it's complete. David Lynch and Mark Frost, the brain trust behind the show's initial run, wrote and directed all episodes of the limited reboot. The series picks up 25 years after Laura Palmer was murdered, according to Variety. Showtime also released a new trailer where fans get a first look at Agent Dale Cooper back in his iconic suit. There isn’t any dialogue, but it’s enough to get viewers excited for what’s to come. The teaser trailer also uses the well-known, Emmy-nominated theme music, as well as the Twin Peaks city sign that was in the opening credits of the series. Those we haven’t seen the original series can catch it on Netflix before the Showtime limited series begins in May.
