Uncharted Movie Nabs King of Kong Director, Seth Gordon

Previously attached to helm this project based on the critically acclaimed video game series, were directors David O. Russell of American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook fame, and Neil Burger, who directed The Illusionist, Limitless and the upcoming Divergent. gordon_seth However according to sources at Variety and Deadline.com, director Seth Gordon is currently in talks with Sony Pictures to helm the live-action adaptation of the game, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The game centers on the large scale adventures of antiquities hunter and treasure seeker Nathan Drake, who is a descendant of famed explorer, Sir Francis Drake. Gordon, who hit the scene in 2007 with the critically acclaimed documentary film The King of Kong, seems an appropriate choice for a film based on a stellar game franchise. No release date is set as of yet, but the intent is for the film to begin production later in the year. A recent draft of the script by Safe House writer David Guggenheim is on the table and will be produced by Chuck Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad. Fans of the series rejoice! It looks like an Uncharted is finally coming!
