Debut Trailer For Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Released
By: Jeffrey Dy | Dec 19, 2012Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII was announced by Square-Enix several months ago to a mixed reaction. The game is going to be the final chapter of the Lightning Saga, but not the last game in the XIII line of games since Versus XIII is still in the works and quickly becoming Japan's Duke Nukem ForeverĀ considering how long the game has been in development. The debut trailer below that was leaked tonight, which was originally going to be released this Saturday by Square-Enix themselves, showcases Lightning's new look and combat abilities. The world is going to end in thirteen days and it is up to Lightning to save it.
Even though Lightning Returns will likely use the same graphics engine as Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2, the footage shown so far seem pretty early with unpolished environments that look like a PS3/360 game that came out in 2006 and framerate issues. The battle system from the past two games will be pretty much the same, especially if you played XIII-2's Requiem of the Goddess DLC that only starred Lightning herself.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII comes out sometime in 2013 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Are Final Fantasy fans impressed of what they seen so far? Let us know in the comments below.
