The Hollywood Reporter has exclusive news about an upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's movie. The news comes a few weeks after the release of the latest game in the series, Five Nights at Freddy's 3.
Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to a Five Nights at Freddy's movie and Warner Bros. is currently looking for writers. The movie will be produced by Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg, who are also developing the Beetlejuice Sequel.
Five Nights at Freddy's has been a hugely popular series since the first game was released in 2014. The series has millions of fans and has been the subject of hundreds of let's plays and other videos since it's release.

Scott Cawthon, creator of the Five Nights at Freddy's series, will be involved in the production of the movie in some capacity. Cawthon, speaking about the Five Nights at Freddy's movie, said that the story of the games would work well in a movie and that  "..it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to.."
No word on a release date or director, and video game movies are notoriously famous for never coming out, but with the popularity of horror films like Paranormal Activity and the huge success of Five Nights at Freddy's, I wouldn't be surprised if this comes out next year.
