Will & Grace Might Be Headed Back to TV

The trend of reboots and remakes has continued this season, and it looks like it might just keep on rolling, this time with the Emmy-winning comedy series, Will & Grace. The cast recently came together to make an election-theme mini-episode (below). This brief reunion has now opened the door for a possible real reboot, according to Deadline. There haven’t been any official announcements, but there are whispers that NBC wants to do a 10-episode installment of the series, according to Deadline. In order to make this project happen, Universal TV would have to get the original cast and creators on-board. This includes Eric McCormack (Will), Debra Messing (Grace), Megan Mullally (Karen) and Sean Hayes (Jack) as well as creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan. The reboot could land at either Hulu or Netflix, who has experienced success with other reboots like Arrested Development, Full House and the highly anticipated Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Another interesting thing about Will & Grace is that, although it can be found in syndication, it doesn’t have a streaming deal with any of the available platforms. If a reboot was to happen, that streaming service might also get access to the back catalog as well, which could be a huge bonus. While the Will & Grace reboot is mostly speculation at this point, I can’t help but hope that this becomes a reality.
