Will ‘Star Wars Episode VII’ Return to Yavin 4?

Star Wars Episode VII rumors are so rampant these days that even Reuters has gotten in on the action. In a story about the Mayan apocalypse and the temples in Guatemala where George Lucas filmed the Rebel base on Yavin 4 in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, the publication mentions Yavin 4 will have a place in the forthcoming trilogy.

Here's the casual drop of information that writer presumably didn't know was not common knowledge:

Yavin 4 and the rebel base return to the Star Wars plot in the forthcoming Episode VII, announced in October by the Walt Disney Co, in which Skywalker comes back to the planet to build a Jedi Knight academy. However, fans said that Disney will likely film those scenes in a studio rather than return to Tikal.

Whoever these "fans" are that the article uses as a source is a total mystery. Using Yavin 4 and having a Jedi Academy makes sense, as would filming Yavin 4 scenes in a studio with green screen instead of on location in Guatemala (though the laster would be better, probably), but the fact that anyone would have that kind of information at this points seems odd.

Then again, if LucasFilm and Disney were thinking about shooting Episode VII on location at all, it's definitely possible they came through town and considered it, revealing that information to tourism officials. The film is expected for 2015, so shooting would likely start in the next 12-15 months at the latest.
