What the 360 Should Improve on

The 360 does a shit ton for a video game system. It plays movies, music, and even games! Microsoft’s Xbox is a great system, but it can do somethings a bit better, especially with their next system expected to drop within the next few years.

Interface:

The general idea of the 360’s interface is as awesome as it is modern. In practice though, the way every section presents itself makes it easy for content to get lost in the shuffle. The main problem is that when you’re in the Arcade section, your attention is on one game. How can Microsoft advertise features or even show you important information when each page is very obviously dedicated to one item at a time? Of course, I know Shadow Complex is out and one of the best arcade games ever, but how is Joe Gamer supposed to discover it? Especially since it’s a older title. Why is the link to Netflix overshadowing the stand-alone movies on the video marketplace? The 360 does have a highest rated game section, but hey can do better to showcase their titles.

How to Get the High Score with a Girl Gamer

When my partner Kevin and I are pronounced husband and wife this September, we will walk back down the aisle to the Star Wars theme played on bagpipes. While this might sound like an idea my geeky soon-to-be-husband talked me into, it was mine. It is these little celebrations of geek culture that put the spark in our relationship. We share a love of gaming, science fiction, cult television shows, and all things Star Wars. Our relationship is built on having fun together, and that’s the advantage geek relationships have. You haven’t lost touch with your childlike side.

There are plenty of geeky couples out there. Just search YouTube for “geek wedding” and you’ll see. But, what if that’s not you? Maybe you have a significant other but she won’t join your Guitar Hero band, no matter how hard you beg. Or maybe you’re working your joystick solo. You want a woman who not only tolerates your interest in gaming, but shares it.

Halo: Reach to have the Strongest Halo Enemies Ever

When you played co-op in previous Halo games, you would always face the same number of enemies who follow the same action pattern as if you were playing the campaign alone. According to a recent Kotaku story, that is no longer the case. Now when four buddies get together to play, not only do the number of aliens increase,  but the AI gets even more intelligent as well. Throw in skulls & the legendary difficulty, and you have the strongest enemies in a Halo game to date.

Consider me signed up. I only wish I had friends who had the skills to play with me since that sounds like it could make the campaign more fun. I guess in the worst case scenario I could just hook up four controllers and try and plow through alone. Ten bucks says that happens within the first week of the game coming out.
