Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Spin-off May Be Back On

Over the last few months there have been rumors that ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may be getting a spin-off. No, not Agent Carter, although ABC announce the Peggy Carter limited series will be back in 2016, although with new cast members surrounding Peggy following the character's move from New York to the West Coast. This spin-off that has swirled around in the press for awhile was rumored to star Bobbi “Mockingbird” Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood).

However, at the recent ABC upfront panel (where the network announces its fall schedule) there was no announcement of a series. Rather, ABC Entertainment Group president Paul Lee remained coy when reporters brought up the possibility of the new series. "[There] certainly is a possibility of spinning them off,” said Lee, before stating that the network loves having all the characters on the S.H.I.E.L.D. mothership. So, does that mean that ABC will eventually be taking the plunge (a la the CW and DC comic characters) and go full-on Marvel? While there may be no announcement of a spin-off yet, it is clear that the door remains fully open at ABC.
