‘Amazing Spider-Man’ Trailer 2 Slings Even Higher

Now that The Avengers has finally hit theaters, Sony wants to make sure you know when you can get your next superhero fix, and it's not The Dark Knight Rises. A second trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man (the third if you include the first mediocre teaser) has arrived and it might just get your spider sense tingling.

The marketing campaign continue to push the mystery element of who Peter Parker's (Andrew Garfield) parents really were and how they likely contributed to him ultimately becoming Spider-Man. It continues to avoid any mention of an origin story and assumes you know these characters to some extent, but it does focus on spelling out what will likely be the dual plot line of Spider-Man evading the police, led by Captain Stacey (Dennis Leary), and Peter's relationship with Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), who becomes The Lizard.

As for the action, we see a lot more of that acrobatic style featured in the first trailer, and a lot more visual effects shots (probably because they are close to being finished). It looks like it could in fact be one of the better superhero movies from an action standpoint.

The Amazing Spider-Man, directed by Marc Webb, will get slinging on July 3.
