American Gods Renewed for Season 2

After airing just two episodes, Starz has renewed American Gods, according to Variety. The series is based in the best-selling Neil Gaiman novel with the same name. It is about protagonist Shadow Moon, played by Ricky Whittle, who finds himself caught in a war between the old gods and the new. Cast members include Ian McShane, Gillian Anderson, Orlando Jones, Emily Browning, Pablo Schrieber, Jonathan Tucker, Cloris Leachman, Peter Stormare, and Kristin Chenoweth. Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Pushing Daisies) and Michael Green are writers, executive producers, and showrunners. The show has received mostly positive reviews (including from us), which most likely helped encourage the early renewal. Since it is so early in the season, there aren’t any predictions for what the second season will hold, but Deadline predicts that, as with the first season, season two will be at least eight episodes long.
