‘Ant-Man’ pushed forward for a Summer 2015 release date

The summer of 2015 is set to be a massive year with movies like The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Batman vs. Superman already set for release. Now that summer has grown a little more crowded with Disney pushing Ant-Man to be released three months earlier then originally intended.

The Hollywood Reporter reported the story that Ant-Man will now have a July 31 release date instead of the November 6 date that was originally instead. Ant-Man will now come out two weeks after Batman vs. Superman with hopes that the bulk of the audience will see the competition in the first two weeks of its releases. The only other movie to be released on July 31 is Fox’s adaptation of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Ant-Man will no longer compete with ‘Bond 24’ which also has a November 6 release date.

The move has raised speculation that Star Wars: Episode VII will be pushed back for a Christmas release and questions where Ant-Man himself will appear in some form in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Edgar Wright is set to direct the superhero movie with Attack the Block’s Joe Cornish helping Wright write the script. Ant-Man himself was created in 1962 and has three people who have had the power of shrinking down to the size of an insect, Henry Pym, Scott Lang and Eric O’Grady. The original Ant-Man, Henry Pym was the creator of Ultron, the Avengers’ next adversary.
