Aronofsky’s Noah manages to sail, this box office weekend.

Even with it having tons of negative press and publicity, Darren Aronofsky's Noah has managed to take in $44 Million dollars at the box office this weekend, which is the 4th highest grossing opening of the year thus far. Box Office Mojo reports that the film opened to about 3,500 screens across the U.S. and managed to take in about $12,000 per screen. The young adult novel Divergent, fell to second place with $26 Million and Muppets Most Wanted in 3rd, with an intake of $11 Million. Sabotage_01 The film that managed to do extremely poorly was David Ayer's Sabotage, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger's latest action film, that fell into 7th place for its debut. Taking in only $5 Million over the past three days, its officially one of the worst openings that "The Governator" has ever had in his entire career. Here's a breakdown for the top ten box office earnings for this past weekend.

  7. Sabotage (Open Road) $5.3 Million
  8. Need for Speed (Buena Vista) $4.3 Million
  9. 300: Rise of an Empire (Warner Bros.) $4.3 Million
  10.  Non-Stop (Universal) $4 Million
Marvel Studios' Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens up here in the U.S. this weekend, but its managed to gain some major traction overseas.
