Arrow Sets Sights On New Cast Members

"True Blood and Enlisted Actors Moving to Starling City"
The third season of Arrow made a special point to emphasize the changing nature of the show; while the narrative will always center on the adventures of Oliver Queen, his crusade has become much more of an ensemble, rather than a singular character study. With that in mind, the fourth season of Arrow continues to greatly expand the citizenry of Starling City.   ARROW CASTING According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show has officially cast actor Parker Young to play a new love interest for Thea Queen (Willa Holland), and has nearly closed a deal to secure an unspecified part for actress Rutina Wesley. Audiences will recognize Young from his comedic turns on Enlisted and Suburgatory, while Wesley made a name for herself on HBO's True Blood, and recently appeared on the under-appreciated Hannibal. At this point, we know very little else about the nature of either role; they could play classic DC characters introduced into the universe, or wholly new characters created for the show -- such as fan-favorite John Diggle. Parker Young as a love interest for Thea seems particularly intriguing when we consider that Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) can still show up in The CW's DC universe. These new additions continue to enhance Arrow's balance of established actors with up-and-comers. Although most definitely serving as the springboard for actors such as Stephen Amell to become household names, much more familiar faces such as Neil McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger) have joined the cast in recent years to lend a sense of prestige to the ensemble.
