On DC's The Source editor Mike Marts had the following to say about the upcoming Batman, Inc:
“Grant Morrison’s new BATMAN, INCORPORATED series is the final, unbelievable act of a saga six years in the making,” said Marts. “Along with his artistic partner-in-crime Chris Burnham, Grant delivers twists, turns, punches and reveals no reader will see coming. Things pick up directly after the shocking cliffhanger of last year’s LEVIATHAN STRIKES one-shot—and only get crazier from there!”
This presents some interesting challenges to Mr Morrison. On the one hand, it's great that we will get continuity across his entire story. I had been a bit worried because the ending of the first half of Batman, Inc hasn't really had an reprecussions in Batman and Robin, where readers will know it should have been huge. At the same time, as comic book readers we have to remember that timelines can get quite convoluted in order to keep one series from spoiling the ending to another. Additionally, while there was some mention of Batman, Inc the organization in both Batman and Robin and Batman: The Dark Knight, none of the events seem to have had any consequences. On the other hand, some continuity changes from the old 52 to the New 52 will cause Morrison either to get very creative in his story-telling or a bit of comic book hand-waving. For example, not only is Barbara Gordon now Batgirl, but it's possible she was never even Oracle. Of course, it's possible Grant Morrison will actually use this to explain where the old Batgirl has gone.
The Source also had some preview pencil pages up. The weird-looking animal-guy definitely has me wondering just what's going on in Batman, Inc.
