Battlefield 4’s Version Differences So Far

As the new consoles approach, more and more games will see releases on both current and next gen systems. Sometimes the games are pretty similar while others have big differences. We now know more about Battlefield 4 and if you were planning on getting the game for your current system you may want to hold off if you want all of the features the highly anticipated sequel will be bringing.

The Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will run at 30 frames per second and will be restricted to a lowly 24 players per match. However, on both Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC, the game will be running at 60 FPS and support the incredible 64 players which was the highlight of their E3 showing. Seeing as that was by far the best feature of the upcoming game this seems like a big slap in the face to buyers of the current system version, though it is to be expected as 64 players on the old hardware did seem pretty unrealistic.

But that’s not all. Battlescreen, the second screen experience for the game will also only be available to next gen systems and the PC. This means that Battlefield 4 is starting to look like a next gen exclusive if you want to play the real version of the game and not just some diluted version of the experience. Expect more of this from other cross platform games as developers look to add new features to their games that only the new systems can provide.
