Ben Stiller Is Returning To Television

Funnyman Ben Stiller is all set to star in a half-hour comedy pilot for HBO called "All Talk". The series will be his first regular television role since "The Ben Stiller Show", which helped kickstart his career back in 1990. Stiller will also serve as Executive Producer for the show along with Eli Bush, Scott Rudin, and Jonathan Safran Foer. Veteran actor and Emmy award winner Alan Alda, Stiller's co-star in the movie "Tower Heist" is also in talks to join the cast.

"All Talk" is described as a "politically, religiously, culturally, intellectually and sexually irreverent" show following the daily life of a Jewish Family based in Washington D.C. Author Jonathan Safran Foer, who is best known for his novels "Everything is Illuminated", "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close", and "Tree of Codes" is writing the script for the comedy pilot. The movie "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" is based on his book of the same name and is currently playing in theaters.

According to HBO's president of programming Michael Lombardo, "Ben Stiller continues to be a major, multi-talented star because of his discerning ability to embrace creative and innovative projects, whatever the medium. We were enormously pleased that Ben responded to this extraordinary work from Jonathan Safran Foer".

The show will start filming sometime in mid-2012.
