Better Call Saul Pilot Will Air by End of 2014

For those still mourning the end of Breaking Bad, the news that work is about to begin on the show's upcoming spin-off, Better Call Saul, is likely welcome. While details still remain scarce on what we can expect when the series eventually makes it to air (assuming AMC gives it a series order once the pilot is filmed, which seems to be an almost foregone conclusion), some additional details leaked at the recent Breaking Bad mini-reunion. Vince Gilligan Offers Scoop on Better Call Saul Together once again to celebrate the release of the Breaking Bad full series DVD set, Bad creator and Better Call Saul co-creator Vince Gilligan announced that Better Call Saul would air before the end of 2014. So far, the only cast member from Bad officially linked to the project is Bob Odenkirk who portrays Saul Goodman, but rumors continue to swirl that Bryan Cranston (Walter White) and Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman) will make appearances on the new series. Also expected to appear is Lavell Crawford, who portrays Saul's bodyguard Huell. Despite Crawford appearing at the DVD release Q&A, neither he nor Gilligan would reveal if Huell would be part of the new series. Gilligan said he was and his writing team have begun to write the pilot, which will shoot in Albuquerque. NM.
