“Bond 23” happening: Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes still on

That's right: the James Bond franchise will return! The 23rd Bond installment will begin shooting late this year after the tumultuous financial situation at MGM delayed the film. Although we don’t know the story just yet, we do know that the film will take place after Quantum of Solace and that John Logan, Neal Purvis, and Robert Wade will pen the script with Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition) directing and Daniel Craig returning to play Bond for the third time.

Craig has most recently been working on Jon Favreau’s action flick Cowboys and Aliens alongside Olivia Wilde and David Fincher’s adaptation of the Stieg Larsson novel The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo with Rooney Mara, Chrisopher Plummer, and Robin Wright, both of which are due out next year.

Bond 23 - expect a title change to come soon - is currently set for release on November 9, 2012.
