Broadchurch Season 2 Cast Announced

While a great deal of attention has been paid in recent weeks to the unveiling of the US adaption of Broadchurch, entitled Gracepoint and set to air on Fox this fall, the British series has made some news this week with the announcement of several new cast members for its upcoming second season.

Joining returning stars David Tennant and Olivia Coleman will be fellow first season stars Jodie Whittaker (Beth Latimer), Andrew Buchan (Mark Latimer) and Arthur Darvill (Rev. Paul Coates). How these original stars will fit into the story, considering the rather final ending of the first season is anyone’s guess. Joining the returning cast members will beMarianne Jean-Baptiste, James D’Arcy, Eve Myles and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

While nothing is yet known as to how these new cast members will fit in with the original stars, the addition of Myles will make this cast pretty heavy in terms of Doctor Who alums, as both Tennant and Darvill spent time in the TARDIS, while Myles was one of the stars of the Who spin-off Torchwood. No official return date has been announced, but filming for the second season is set to begin shortly.
