Burn the Orphanage Funding Cancer Research

Pancreatic cancer is a serious disease which affected 1 in 68 people and has a 6% survival rate. Sina Grace (The Li’l Depressed Boy, Self-Obsessed) has stepped forward to help the Lustgarten Foundation fund research of this deadly disease – with the help of comics.   Twenty pages of artwork from Burn the Orphanage: Reign of Terror #1 will be going towards The Lustgarten Foundation in support of pancreatic cancer research. All of the profits earned from the auctions (entitled “Compassion vs. Cancer”) to raise awareness of this deadly cancer.   It was a very personal issue for Grace, who lost a friend to cancer a month ago. He explained that “I needed to do something bigger than wallowing and worrying. By donating all of the art from my book, I can raise more funds towards great cause and possibly inspire my peers to do the same.”   Burn the Orphanage Charity   Burn the Orphanage: Reign of Terror #1 is a continuation of the Burn the Orphanage series written by Sina Grace and Daniel Freedman (Undying Love), both of which are very talented and whose work I’ve greatly enjoyed before. Grace also handles the artwork of the series. In this series, Rock returns to his home only to find out a corporation has taken the city under siege and he and his friend must fight against them. This is the first of a five issue mini-series and includes a Liberty Justice back-up story written by Tyler Shainline and the Emmy Award winning Andy Suriano (Doc Bizarre, Samurai Jack)   Compassion vs. Cancer auctions will start from $10 to $25. The research you will be supporting by buying one of these prints includes the study of biological mechanism and clinical strategies that could help prevent, diagnose and treat pancreatic cancer. The funds will also help increase awareness of the severity of pancreatic cancer.   If you want to bid in these auctions, visit Compassion vs. Cancer. They will remain open until May 17th. If you want to learn more about the Lustgarten Foundation, visit their official website.   Burn the Orphanage Charity Artwork   I hear about diseases like AIDS and cancer in general in the media all the time but I haven’t heard much of anything on this particular cancer, which I think makes this auction all the more important. I give these creators credit for not only donating proceeds to the foundation, but donating 100% of the profits to the organization. A warm hug goes out to Grace and Freedman. Please bid today on some artwork and help find a cure to pancreatic cancer.
