Damage Inc. Pacific Squadron WWII Preview

After teasing us at E3 2012 with a fully playable version of the game, Damage Inc. Pacific Squadron WWII has been announced for an August release this year, and after seeing the footage of this game, it looks absolutely incredible!

Formerly known as War Wings: Hell Catz and announced at E3 2011, The renamed Damage Inc. Pacific Squadron WWII looks to become a ground breaker in flight simulation for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 & PC. Featuring beautifully rendered graphics, amazing battle scenes and immense gameplay, The distinct single and multiplayer content offers endless gameplay, with over 12 hours of campaign missions alone.

What strikes me as so original is that the game features real battlefields from World War 2, where you start off with the attack on Pearl Harbour. With 23 historically accurate missions and 100+ mission objectives, your experience will include all the challenges that actual pilots faced, dogfighting, torpedo and dive bombing, carrier takeoffs and landings in a mix of intense air-to-air, air-to-ship and air-to-ground combat. The game also features many popular planes as found from the historic aviation scenes of World War 2, again adding to the authenticity of this title.

The multiplayer also seems extremely extensive with some great options, You can team up with your friends to replay all the missions in co-op mode with up to 4 players, or explore new and exclusive multiplayer modes like “Scratch One Flattop” which pits two teams against each other in a mix of fighters and bombers to see who can sink the other team’s aircraft carrier first. Some other multiplayer options are -

Dogfight - Dogfight other online players.
Team Dogfight - Dogfight against another team to own the skies.
Survivor - All players begin with a set number of lives and then fight until only one remains.
Team Survivor - All players begin with a set number of lives, last team with lives remaining wins.

Another striking point about this game is the pacific AV8R™ joystick from Mad Catz available for Xbox360, PS3, and PC (Only available when purchased as part of the Collectors Edition). This will make the game play even more immersive as you actually take control of a replica control stick, like you would get in a real plane, making you feel encapsualted in the whole warzone experience. This game seems to be at the forefront of simulators for consoles this summer and beyond, and I'm really looking forward to getting my hands in on the action and becoming part of one of the most historic events of all time. Rest assured we will have a full gameplay review as soon as the game is released. The game can be pre ordered for a mere $99 HERE with some awesome gameplay footage seen HERE
Do you think you have what it takes to fly your way to victory? Find out this summer with Damage Inc. Pacific Squadron WWII.
