Disney Announces Voice Cast for ‘Big Hero 6’

Following the purchase of Marvel Studios by Disney, it was only a matter of time before their talented team of animators tackled a comic book adaptation. Big Hero 6 is that film. We were all introduced to Big Hero 6 when the official trailer hit the internet in late May, but have been left mostly in the dark since. Hiro will be voiced by the relative-newcomer, Ryan Potter (Nickelodeon's, Supah Ninjas), and his crime-fighting robot will be voiced by comedian, Scott Adsit (30 Rock). The crime fighting team is comprised of members, Fred, who will be voiced by T.J. Miller (How to Train Your Dragon 1-2); GoGo Tomango, voiced by Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch); Wasabi, voiced by Damon Wayans Jr. (The Other Guys); and Honey Lemon, voiced by Genesis Rodriguez (Identity Thief). Comedienne-extraordinare Maya Rudolph and actor Alan Tudyk are also set to voice, but details of their characters were not released. Slated for a release date of November 7, it will certainly be fodder for the holiday crowd. Depending on the success of this film (keep in mind the last two films produced by Disney Animation Studios  were Frozen and Wreck it Ralph), Disney could usher in a new era of cartoon action movies, akin to the long-standing Anime tradition over seas. Alongside their bi-annual release of live-action comic book movies, Marvel Studios/Disney could see a massive rise in profit from animated features, further dominating the box office with comic-inspired remakes, reboots and sequels.
