Ed Sheeran to Appear on Game of Thrones

Singer Ed Sheeran is trading his guitar in for trip to Westeros where he will be making an appearance on season seven of Game of Thrones, according to Variety. Image Via FX Showrunners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were on a panel at SXSW and said they have been trying to get Sheeran on the show for a while to surprise Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark on the show and is a big fan of him and his music. This might seem like a strange casting choice, but Sheeran does have some experience acting having also appeared on a live episode of Undateable and a few episodes of  FX's The Bastard Executioner. There aren’t any details yet about exactly who Sheeran will play or even how many episodes he will be involved in. HBO simply stated that he has a role and didn’t offer any further elaboration. HBO also announced last week that season seven of Game of Thrones will premiere July 16, and will consist of just seven episodes. The network also confirmed over the weekend that the official episode order for the final season of Game of Thrones (set to air in 2018) will be six episodes, as has been speculated by critics for some time. Make your calendar and start putting together your theories for who Sheeran will be playing this summer when Game of Thrones returns.
