Emily Browning Joins American Gods as Laura Moon

"One magical coin required."
American Gods, the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel, continues to bolster its cast. Sucker Punch’s Emily Browning has been tapped to play Laura Moon, Shadow Moon’s wife, a character who will be “even trickier and more dangerous than the one on the page,” said Gaiman. Following her husband’s release from prison, she goes on "an unexpected journey that leads her to an epiphany about her relationship and affords her a second chance to get things right." Due to society’s changing interests, the old gods are losing believers to deities that represent vices like “money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs.” Ricky Whittle's Shadow Moon joins Ian McShane's Mr. Wednesday “on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities."
