Fighting Game Announcements From Gamescom 2016

"Suicide Squad in Injustice 2 & another veteran returns to Tekken 7"
Gamescom 2016 at Germany has been going on this week and more characters were announced for upcoming fighting games. The Soul Calibur VI rumor train keeps on rolling and Capcom already confirmed Urien for September in Street Fighter V. Fresh off the Suicide Squad movie, Harley Quinn makes her return to Injustice 2, but Deadshot gets his franchise debut. For Harley, she already has a default costume, one from the movie and a jester outfit. Tara Strong also reprises her role to no surprise and let's face it, she's still the best Harley voice around. Deadshot now joining the roster makes me wonder if Deathstroke is not gonna make the final cut. Since they were the two shining stars from the movie, I'm not surprised these two are in Injustice 2. Over at the Tekken 7 front, Lee Chaolan makes his return to the franchise alongside his alter ego Violet. Lee has been around since the original despite missing Tekken 3, so it's no surprise he's back. Also announced at Gamescom was more story mode details. Story mode will also feature young iterations of Kazuya and Heihachi such as Kazuya when he's a kid. One of the new characters in this game, Cluadio, plays a pivotal role in the storyline since he has a solution to defeat the Devil Gene that has been a part of the Mishima bloodline. Fated Retribution arcade machines at Asia were updated a week or two ago with Bob now playable and balance changes (major nerfs for Akuma). I wonder who's next to announce for this game as we'll likely find out at Tokyo Game Show next month. That is it for now with fighting game announcements from Gamescom 2016. Excited to play as these characters in their respective games? Let us know in the comments below.
