When Netflix initially announced it would be making a series based on the cult-classic 2001 comedy Wet Hot American Summer, the main question was whether or not the film's starry cast would be making appearances. After all, the cast of the film reads like a who's who of today's Hollywood: Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, David Hyde Pierce, and Janeane Garofalo.
Based on the first teaser trailer, released yesterday by Netflix and embedded below, the entire gang will be getting back together for one more trip to Camp Firewood. While very little is known about the plot for the series, the trailer indicates that the series will be set on day one of the 1981 camp session- the same camp session shown in the cult film (although the film looked at the final day of that camp session). It will also be a closed-ended, eight episode mini-series. Judging from the star-wattage now contained with its cast, it seems unlikely that all cast members will be able to appear in all episodes, but more information is likely to emerge as it gets closer to the series' summer release date.
