Fox Orders Pilot For X-Filesesque Comedy Ghosted’

"Will The Jokes Be Out There For This Fox TV Pilot?"
Fox announced on Tuesday a pilot order for a new comedy series starring Craig Robinson and Adam Scott as paranormal investigators in the same vein as X-files. Ghosted would team the pair in the familiar format of a true believer and a skeptic investigating paranormal mysteries while uncovering an Earth-changing conspiracy. As described by Fox, Ghosted will follow a cynical, hilarious skeptic, Leroy Wright (Craig Robinson), and a genius “true believer” in the paranormal, Max Allison (Adam Scott), who are hired by the Underground Investigative Service (UIS) to look into the rampant “unexplained” activity in Los Angeles — all while uncovering a larger mystery that could threaten the existence of the human race. craig_robinson 2 The show will be filmed in single-camera format and be written by screenwriter Tom Gormican (That Awkard Moment) and executive produced by Gormican and both Craig Robinson and Adam Scott for 3Arts and Twentieth Century Fox Television. Ghosted will be a reunion of sorts for Robinson and Scott, who starred in 2015's Hot Tub Time Machine 2. Hot Tub 2 Craig Robinson, who tours nationally as a standup comedian as well as a musician, recently starred in NBC’s short-lived comedy Mr. Robinson and had a recurring role on USA Network’s Mr. Robot. He is also set to host Spike TV’s upcoming Caraoke Showdown. Adam Scott was previously seen on NBC's Parks and Recreation, and will soon star in David E. Kelley's HBO miniseries Big Little Lies as Reese Witherspoon’s on-screen husband. Adam Scott The original X-Files series, which starred Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, ran for 9 seasons and over 200 episode on Fox while also spawning two movies, several spinoff series, and a multimedia enterprise. The show returned briefly for the first time in 15 years for a 10th season and six-episode 'event series' on the network earlier this year. Though a relative ratings success, Fox has yet to announce any firm plans to renew the original series. An air date for Ghosted pilot episode has not been confirmed.
