Fox To Produce New Ryan Murphy Series

With Ryan Murphy's Glee set to sing its swan song this season, Fox was in danger of being without a Murphy series for the 2015 television season (not counting Murphy's American Horror Story and the upcoming American Crime Story for Fox's cable outlet FX). But fear not, Murphy fans, Fox has announced that it will be giving a series order to Murphy's latest offering: Scream Queens.

Joining Murphy on the Scream Queens creative team will be his frequent collaborator Brad Falchuk and their fellow Glee producer Ian Brennan. While not much is known about the series, which has been given an initial 15-episode order by Fox, it's looking like it might be more inline with the Horror Story tradition of anthology storytelling, rather than the traditional series set-up offered by Glee. Per Fox's press release, the initial season of the series will be set on a college campus dealing with a series of unsolved murders. The show will reportedly feature two leading female characters, but no word on casting or if the cast will become a repertory company a la Horror Story. But unlike Horror Story, Scream Queens will be a comedy accented with "true horror" moments. The series is expected to air in the 2015 season.
