Fox to Revive 24

Along with the news of various network renewals and cancelations came some additional exciting news: Fox will be bringing back former hit 24 for a shortened 12 episode season in May of 2014.

Jack Bauer is Back

Canceled in 2010 after an eight-season run, 24 was one of the few breakout scripted hits for Fox since the turn of the 21st century. Starring Keifer Sutherland, the series followed Jack Bauer (Sutherland) as he and his team attempted to thwart terrorist attacks and assassination attempts all within the span of 24 hours. Each episode covered one hour of time in the season-long day, which would mean that this new incarnation of the show would present a different timetable.

Early reports indicate that the season will still encompass a single day and that each episode will still focus on an hour of the day, but there will be hours that are skipped throughout the season. In terms of casting, only Sutherland has been confirmed as officially on board for the new season. However, Fox entertainment chairman Kevin O’Reilly has stated that any character who survived the series finale is in fair game for a comeback. Shooting is expected to begin in early 2014, with the show’s former writers Evan Katz and Manny Coto spearheading the production.
