HBO Renews Looking for Second Season
HBO's freshman dramedy
Looking has officially been renewed for a second season. The San Francisco based series, which follows three gay friends as they navigate life and love in the city, premiered in January of 2014 to modest ratings.

While
Looking hasn't brought in the ratings that fellow Sunday night series
Girls and
True Detective has (the later of the two brought in a series high 10.3 million viewers this past weekend), it has largely been a critical success and has found a modest audience. Along with the news of its renewal, HBO also announced that three of the show's recurring cast members will be upgraded to series regulars in season two.
Lauren Weedman (who plays Dom's hilarious best friend Doris), Raúl Castillo (Patrick’s boyfriend Richie) and Russell Tovey (Patrick’s English boss Kevin) will all join stars Jonathan Groff (Patrick), Frankie J. Alvarez (Agustín) and Murray Bartlett (Dom) as official series regulars in 2015. While the 8 episode first season will wrap up on March 9, there is no word on season two's premiere date (although it is expected to be in early 2015) or what the episode count will be for the new season.
