IDW Publishing to Launch Orphan Black Comic Books

If you just can't seem to get enough of Sarah, Cosima, Alison, or Felix (along with all the other various clones and characters on BBC America's hit series Orphan Black), have I got some good news for you! IDW Publishing has announced that it will be launching a series of Orphan Black comics in 2015. The comics will present "all-new stories set in the complex and thrilling world of Orphan Black," according to the press release, and will have appearances from the major characters within the television series. IDW will be working alongside the show's producers to craft stories. Orphan-Black-a08ec "Orphan Black, in addition to being a captivating TV series, is a perfect premise for comics," Chris Ryall, IDW Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief, said in a press release. The first of the comics is expected to be released in early 2015, but the cover art (seen above) for the first issue (drawn by artist Nick Runge) has been released. Orphan Black the television series was recently renewed for a third serason by BBC America, and while no start date has been announced, it is expected to debut in the late spring of 2015.
