Kidman and Witherspoon to Star in Limited TV Series
It appears that Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon will be the next Hollywood film stars to make the jump from the big to small screens in 2015, with the announcement that the pair are set to star in a limited run television series. The Oscar winners will be producing the series, an adaptation of the best selling novel "Big Little Lies" from Australian author Liane Moriarity, and the series will be written by Emmy-winning writer David E. Kelly.

The series will be a black comedy, following three Kindergarden mothers (two of them portrayed by Kidman and Witherspoon, the other to be cast later), whose seemingly perfect lives begin falling apart, eventually leading to murder. There is no network for the series as of yet, but with this type of pedigree, it is almost certain to receive at least an initial series order.
The decision of Witherspoon and Kidman to make the move to television follows a year that saw several high profile film actors do the same, with Halle Berry appearing on the CBS drama
Extant (which, despite shockingly low ratings, was picked up for a second season), and Matthew McConaughey joining Woody Harrelson on the first season of
True Detective.
