Yesterday, we learned that Ridley Scott wants to make a film about the biblical figure Moses, but don’t forget that progress has been made in casting for Noah, Academy Award-nominated director Darren Aronofsky’s passion project that predictably centers on the ark builder of the same name.
It is a huge week of DVD and Blu-ray releases with big early 2012 films such as John Carter, Safe House and Act of Valor coming out and many classic movies from many different genres.
Convincing audiences it is the fairest of them all with a stronger-than-expected debut, dark fairytale spin Snow White and the Huntsman easily charged into first place while Men in Black III and The Avengers held quite well.
Clark Gregg’s character had been a reliable presence in Marvel fare such as Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and Thor and as would be expected, a number of people would love to see his return.
Ridley Scott definitely comes to mind when one thinks of iconic directors. The three-time Oscar nominee has helmed films about aliens, gladiators, gangsters and two women fleeing the law in a Thunderbird, but what about a movie about the Bible? That hasn’t happened yet, but it might very soon.
Guy Ritchie has been attached to many projects over the years, including the 300 sequel, an adaptation of DC’s Lobo, a remake of Cannonball Run and an adaptation of Sgt. Rock. Now, one of Warner Bros.’ go-to directors has been offered the chance to direct an adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island.
