NBC Order Series from Happy Endings Creator

While several cast members of the dearly departed ABC comedy Happy Endings have found their way to greener pastures at Fox (Adam Pally is starring on The mindy Project, while Damon Wayans, Jr. is back on New Girl), Happy Endings creator David Caspe has had his latest comedy offering picked up by NBC for the 2014 fall television season.

The series, entitled Marry Me, will star former Happy Endings star Casey Wilson (Caspe’s real-life fiancee) and Ken Marino (best known for his work as Vinny Van Lowe on Veronica Mars) as a long-term couple. After Marino’s character fails to propose during a romantic vacation (he has decided to propose as soon as they return from said vacation), Wilson’s character let’s it be known she is less than pleased with his lack of proposal.

In addition to Wilson and Marino, the cast includes Sarah Wright, John Gemberling, Tymberlee Hill and former Saturday Night Live cast member Tim Meadows. The series has been ordered for an initial 13 episodes by NBC, and it is expected the network will announce where the series will fall in its weekly line-up during this summer’s upfronts.
