NBC Orders Comedy Pilot from Happy Endings Creator

When Happy Endings ended its much too short run last spring, fans were left wondering what show would take its place in their hearts. With the announcement that NBC has ordered a comedy pilot from David Caspe, the co-creator of Happy Endings, fans may have a new reason to hope. happy-endings-abc-cast Marry Me, the project's working title, will be a single camera half hour comedy, much like Caspe's Happy Endings. The show has already been compared to Mad About You in terms of comedy style, and will follow a young couple who becomes engaged and then discovers that taking this next step in their lives is harder than the anticipated it would be. While no names have been attached to star yet, the show has announced its pilot director, Seth Gordon, and an additional executive producer, Jamie Tarses, who also was an executive producer on Happy Endings. This marks the third comedy series NBC has given at least a pilot order to, with the network ordering a pilot from Bad Judge, as well as comissioning a full season from a Tina Fey/Rob Carlock untitled series.
