On April 10, 2015, Marvel's Daredevil will officially hit the internet, with all the television adaptation's first season of episodes becoming available on Netflix.
While Netflix and Marvel have been fairly quiet regarding the exact story arch for the series, which will star Charlie Day in the title role, the trailer certainly hints at the general themes of the series. It will be dark. And not just dark in terms of lighting. The series appears to have a distinctively darker feel to it than Marvel's other major television project Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Although, considering the series has Steven S. DeKnight as a showrunner, it really shouldn't be that much of a surprise. After all, DeKnight was behind the Spartacus series (which, if you haven't seen it, is now streaming on Netflix, so watch it). While there has been no announcement regarding additional seasons, the series is expected to serve as a launching point for the eventual Defenders series, which will bring together the leads from the other three Netflix/Marvel collaborations (Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage).
